NOTICE: As of March 10 at 4:15, only 184 students have registered for AP Exams!!! Information about Advanced Placement Exam Registration went out to all AP students last month, your AP student should have shared this information with you. On-Time Registration began February 22 and ends March 12. Students must bring their payment with them in order to register for exams. Check or money order only! Make check payable to Bowie High School and one check for the total amount due is preferable.
COURSE CONTRACTS: All counselors will be assisting students with course selection entry March 8 - 12. Students will enter choices in computer labs during their math class. Students will also be able to recieve advising from a counselor while in these labs, if they still have questions. Parents, we ask that if you have concerns reguarding your student's course selections, to please wait until after Spring Break to contact the counselor. Remember that changes can be made to selections anytime before June 10th.
Questions about summer school and ECS/Dual Credit?
Upper course contracts should be completed as if your student is not going to attend summer classes. Once your student is enrolled in the summer course(s), s/he should take proof to the counselor so the schedule can be altered. AISD summer school information is available at the austinisd.org website! Early College Start/Dual Credit information is available here, at the Counselors Corner and ECS/Dual Credit sessions are being held in the college center...
For Parents: March 4 at 12:00
For Students: Feb. 24, Mar. 11, and April 1 at both lunches
For more information, click on your student's grade level tab on the Presentations link.
Open to all students. Students must sign up through Naviance to attend. Take a look!
Bowie students may meet with their counselors before school, during both lunches, or after school. Ms. Ashburn will schedule a time for their visit and give them the necessary call slip if the student has been unable to meet with the counselor at the above times. If at all possible, we do not want the students to miss class to visit with the counselor.
Parents should call or e-mail their child’s counselor directly if they have a need for a parent conference. If you attend our evening parent meetings (at least seven this year!), and study the information we send home with your student, you may find that you have all of your questions answered. The Bowie Counseling Staff would love to hear from you if you have any questions or concerns.
